The Local Letter exists to connect Hunt County through story.
Our focus is simple. We highlight locally owned businesses, creatives, organizations, and community leaders who are shaping life in and around Hunt County, Texas. Every feature is written with the goal of helping readers better understand the people behind the storefronts and services they see every day.
We believe local connection builds stronger communities. Our stories are designed to inform, encourage, and create awareness in a way that feels personal and genuine.
How We Choose Stories
Most features begin with a conversation. Business owners and community members are interviewed directly, and stories are written based on those conversations. We prioritize:
Locally owned businesses
Community impact
Authentic personal stories
Meaningful connection to Hunt County and surrounding communities
Positive contributions to the area
We do not publish anonymous submissions or unverified claims.
Editorial Independence
Editorial features are not pay-to-play.
Being featured in The Local Letter is not dependent on Community Partner status. Community Partnerships help support the continued publication of The Local Letter and the community it serves, but they do not guarantee or influence editorial coverage.
Businesses do not have to be Community Partners to be considered for a story, and becoming a Community Partner does not guarantee that a business will be featured.
When content includes a paid sponsorship, advertisement, or affiliate link, it is clearly disclosed.
Accuracy and Integrity
We strive to represent every business accurately and respectfully. Interviews are based on direct conversations and publicly available information.
If an error is identified, we welcome corrections and will update the content promptly.
Our Community Commitment
The Local Letter is built on encouragement, not controversy. We do not publish gossip, negative reviews, or content intended to harm reputations.
Our goal is to highlight what is working, who is building, and how neighbors can support one another.
